Some Friday Humor

On Friday afternoons, the pace of work slows down at ACS Technologies as it does in most offices.  I like to spend the down time reading up on blogs and industry group forums.  I came across this humorous article on “seminar talk” and I adapted the concept to “support talk”.  As you read this, remember that it is Friday afternoon and we all need to laugh little.
Support Talk
When a support person says: Can I put you on hold while I check on that?
The support person really means: I have been talking straight for the last hour and I need a break.
When a support person says: That is a really interesting question.
The support person really means: Let me stall a few moments while I think up something to try.
When a support person says: So how is the weather in __________?
The support person really means: More stalling tactics.
When a support person says: Let me connect to your computer so I can see what is going on.
The support person really means: This will be much easier if I can see the computer and stop talking with you.
When a support person says: I will need to check with the programming group on that.
The support person really means: I do not have an answer and I am hoping someone else does.
When a support person says: Hmmm…
The support person really means: I do not have a clue but I need to say something.
When a support person says: Is there anything else I can help you with?
The support person really means: Please, please don’t ask me anything else, it’s time for lunch.
Have a good weekend.
